Q: What is CHRIS™?
A: The Chiropractic Health Research Information Service (CHRIS™) is a unique and exciting service program for DCs. Developed in response to the current research explosion in chiropractic and related fields—such as nutrition, stress reduction and alternative medicine—CHRIS™ is the first program to use the latest information technology to keep chiropractors up-to-date. Twice per week, CHRIS™ reviews a prodigious number of "late-breaking" studies and reports, chooses 5 stories chiropractors need to know about and summarizes them in an electronic newsletter. CHRIS™ then e-mails or faxes this newsletter directly to subscribers' homes or offices.

Q: How will the Chiropractic Health Research Information Service™ (CHRIS™) help you?
A: At CHRIS™, we know that only informed chiropractors make exceptional doctors. CHRIS™ reviews over 600 journals, several news wires and news services, all major US newspapers and pertinent press releases from health-related associations. Our editorial staff and advisory board are comprised of chiropractors, writers, and professional researchers. We sort through all the latest research for you, choose those stories most applicable and present them in a twice-weekly, quick-read newsletter—sent via e-mail (or fax) directly to your home or office.
CHRIS™ will give you:
- A twice-weekly electronic newsletter summarizing 5 chiropractic, alternative and preventive studies.
- Information on studies currently in the news—research your patients are interested in.
- Peace of mind—answer your patients' questions with confidence!
- Links to abstracts, full text articles, press releases and news articles (when available).

Q: How does CHRIS™ save DCs time?
A: Keeping up with relevant research requires a substantial time-commitment. Not only are a plethora of studies published every day, but you could also spend hours sifting through non-pertinent information before uncovering studies applicable to your field and your practice.
Consequently, almost every other health care specialty has at least one on-line service that sifts through research for them. Although some publications summarize current studies directly related to chiropractic, our profession lacks a comprehensive publication emphasizing a broad range of topics—or one that's available electronically. CHRIS™ is the first service to offer DCs an electronic synopsis of preventive and alternative medicine studies.

Q: Why does CHRIS™ include studies on "a broad range of topics"?
A: For three reasons:
- These are the studies patients are interested in—they've heard about them in the news and they have questions. DCs need to be armed with the answers to those questions, answers that are based on review of the actual studies—CHRIS™ will help them do that.
- As "prevention specialists" chiropractors need to stay abreast of advances in disease prevention. New information is presented daily—we owe it to our patients to keep up.
- If Chiropractic's reputation as the forerunner in wellness care is to endure—and continue to move forward—we can't operate in a bubble. It's imperative that doctors of chiropractic remain informed—or we'll sabotage our scope of practice, and pigeon hole ourselves into the narrow realm of "back doctors."

Q: Does CHRIS™ comment on the studies discussed, or just summarize them?
A: Our goal is to provide information without comment or bias. And, CHRIS™ synopses are not intended to substitute for reviewing full-text articles. We do, however, incorporate source information and links to sites where our subscribers may obtain abstracts and purchase full text articles.
